Text-to-Speech (TTS) converts written text into a realistic voice-over inside Powtoon Studio. You can choose from a wide range of languages, accents, and voice styles, then apply the generated audio directly to your Powtoon or use it to drive character lip-sync.

Getting your Voice-over

Click AI Tools, then select Generate a Voiceover.

Enter your text in the provided field, then click the arrow to continue.

The Text-to-Speech module will open.
- Add your text.
- Choose the desired voice. You'll see your recently used, and favorite voices here.
- Click Generate to hear it.
- If you are happy with the voice-over, click Save.
Choosing from the voice library
The Voices Library offers a wide range of high-quality, realistic voices available in many languages.
- Click on Voices Library.
- Choose the language of your voiceover.
- Filter the voices using 4 criteria to pinpoint the right voice for your needs.
- Age
- Gender
- Tone
- Purpose
- Once you've filtered the voices, you can sample each voice to see how it sounds.
- Once you are ready to move forward with a specific voice, you can select it for your voiceover and also add it as a favorite.
- After clicking Apply, the generate voiceover tab will open, with the voice artist you've selected added as the selected voice. In the example below, we selected the voice Eleguar, and the voice was automatically added on the generate voiceover tab.
Changing the title of the voiceover
To change the title of your voiceover, click on the microphone symbol, and provide a title. To save the title, simply click your mouse anywhere in the Image voice window.
Pronunciation + Prompting Tips
If the AI has trouble pronouncing certain words, try to write the words more phonetically. You can employ various tricks such as capital letters, dashes, apostrophes, or even single questions marks around a single letter.
You can also use special characters such as question marks, or exclamation marks to change the tone of the pronunciation.
