When you place multiple objects on a slide, the grid overlay helps you align them symmetrically and consistently. This article explains how to turn on the grid and use it to position objects on the stage.
Before you start
The grid is available in Powtoon Studio. No specific plan requirement applies — the grid toggle is accessible to all users in the editor.
How to turn on the grid
- Open your Powtoon in Powtoon Studio.
- At the top of the editor, locate the grid toggle switch. By default, the grid is switched off.
- Toggle the switch to the right to turn the grid on. The grid overlay appears on the stage immediately.
How to position objects using the grid
- At the top of your screen, toggle the grid switch to the right. By default, it will be switched off.
2. The grid on the slide will be displayed as in the screenshot below (16 blocks horizontally x 9 blocks vertically). Note that the vertical and horizontal guides intersect in the middle of the slide.
3. Add your objects to the slide and position them on the grid.
In the example below, the feet of both characters are positioned on the same grid line and their waving hands are both positioned 1 block from the center of the slide.
