How do I delete a member from the organization?
Permissions or access
- Only an Org Admin can delete a member from the organization.
- Team Admins cannot delete members from the organization. They can only remove members from teams.
- Before you delete a member, make sure they are removed from all teams they belong to.
- If the member owns Powtoons that need to stay in the organization, transfer ownership before deleting the member.
Steps
- Remove the member from all teams they belong to.
- This can be done by you or by the Team Admin for each relevant team.
- Check whether the member shared any Powtoons with a team.
- If they did, transfer ownership of those Powtoons to another team member before you remove the member.
- Ask the member to remove any personal Powtoons they no longer need.
- If they created personal Powtoons that the organization needs, have them export those Powtoons to MP4 and send the files to the Org Admins.
- If needed, personal Powtoons can be transferred to another member before the user is permanently deleted.
- In Powtoon Workspace, go to your Toolbox and click Manage Teams.
- Click View all.
- In the Org Admin page, click Unassigned Users in the hierarchy.
- Members who no longer belong to any teams appear here.
- Select the member you want to delete.
- Click the three dots at the end of the row.
- Click Delete member.
- If personal Powtoons are still in the member’s account, select a member from the drop-down list to receive them.
- Click Transfer to transfer the Powtoons and delete the member from the organization.
Team impact
- Deleting the member removes them from the organization permanently.
- Their license returns to the unused license pool and can be assigned to a new member.
- Powtoons that are not transferred or exported before deletion may be lost with the account.
- This action cannot be reversed, and Powtoon cannot restore the deleted user account.
